# Managed Accounts

> Create, manage, and retrieve credentials for managed accounts.

Managed Accounts represent MOR, VA, or PA accounts owned through a user's active Master Account relationship.

### Authentication

Every operation requires a user-scoped owner credential. The selected account must be visible through that owner relationship.

### Models and state

REST enum fields are JSON numbers:

* Model: `1` MOR, `2` VA, `3` PA.
* Compliance mode: `1` Hosted Link, `2` API Body, `3` Provider Session.
* Account status: `1` Pending, `2` Active, `3` Frozen, `4` Closed, `5` Rejected, `6` Expired, `7` Pending Submission.

MOR reuses approved Master compliance. VA and PA use an independent compliance session. PA requires an eligible linked account and has no independent Open API credential.

### Credential behavior

Credential retrieval is available only for an eligible active MOR or VA. A newly provisioned secret is returned in full once and is masked on later reads. Credential rotation is present in the HTTP contract but the current service always returns the unsupported-operation error; it is not an available production capability.
